Product Notes

Boekenhoutskloof Cap Maritime Pinot Noir is an exquisite South African red wine with a finesse that reflects French craftsmanship. It boasts a ravishing ruby hue and swirling it reveals a delicate bouquet of ripe strawberry, mulberry, and wild mushroom notes. The palette is also rich, with tantalising tastes of red fruit, spicy clove, and earthy undertones. Its elegant structure, dexterously balanced acidity, and silky tannins lead to a sophisticated, lingering finish. This wine is best served slightly chilled, complementing tuna steaks, duck, or earthy mushroom dishes splendidly. An artistic, flavourful expression of the Walker Bay region’s terroir.

Tasting Notes

The nose offers classic aromas of black cherries, dark plums and mushroom with subtle, earthy whiffs of dried leaves and potting soil. Wild berries, damson and the sous-bois character of the nose follow through onto a powerful palate with good structure and weight and delicate hints of tarragon, dill and cedar. Lively tannins are perfectly balanced with bright acidity and exceptional fruit concentration, creating finesse and complexity. Red liquorice, cardamom and clove linger on a smooth, mouth-watering finish.
