Product Notes

Li Veli Askos Susumanielo Salento IGT is an elegant, distinctive wine hailing from the southern Italian region of Salento. Its star is the indigenous Susumaniello grape, a rare variety that lends it an intense ruby-red hue. On the nose, expect a captivating dance of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and delicate floral notes. The palate isn't overshadowed, boasting a harmonious balance of tannins, acidity and alcohol. It matures in French oak barrels, which presents a subtle undertone of vanilla. This medium-bodied wine rounds off with a pleasantly persistent finish, making it a visually delightful and tantalisingly tasteful treat for the senses.

Tasting Notes

This wine showsnotes of raspberry, sour cherry and blackcurrant on the nose, followed by liquorice, rhubarb and leather. The palate is soft, very elegant and well balanced by tannins. The long finish shows a touch of acidity and a great freshness.
