Semillon

The Semillon grape is a notable variety of white wine grape with its origins traced to the Bordeaux region of France. This grape type thrives in multiple climates, from the cool regions of Bordeaux to the hotter vineyards in Australia. Additionally, Sauternes and Barsac, the celebrated sweet wine regions within Bordeaux, heavily rely on Semillon, partly due to its susceptibility to noble rot, a fungus that aids in the creation of concentrated and sweet dessert wines.
