Product Notes

Condado de Haza 20 Aldeas is a remarkable Spanish wine hailing from the Ribera del Duero region. This unique, full-bodied red wine masterfully captures the essence of Tempranillo grapes. Its rich colour mirrors the vibrant palate, brimming with distinct flavours of ripe plum, blackcurrant, and laced with subtle hints of vanilla and spices. The exquisite ageing process in new French oak barrels adds complex textures and an elegant finish. A harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation, 20 Aldeas provides a tremendous experience, making it perfect for those distinctive moments and celebrations that demand a classy, unforgettable touch.

Tasting Notes

APPEARANCE - A clean, cherry-red colour. AROMAS - Intense aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums. Subtle balsamic hints come through mingling with the characteristic liquorice notes of the Tempranillo grape, followed by toasty, smoky, vanilla hints that come from the wine’s ageing in American oak barrels. PALATE - This is a powerful wine with a fleshy entry on the palate and very good balance between tannins and acidity. The mouth-feel is one of volume and abundant round tannins that fill the mouth with fruit flavour. The wine becomes smoother as it develops towards a long, pleasant finish with hints of roasted coffee beans and liquorice coming through.

About the Winery

Condado de Haza

Nestled in the sleepy heartland of Spain's Ribera del Duero wine region, you will find the captivating Condado de Haza winery. This majestic estate stretches across an expanse of over 200 hectares with breathtaking views of lush green vineyards that seem to kiss the horizon.

The winery, a proud family venture, was established in the 1980s by Alejandro Fernández, a pioneering figure in Spanish viticulture. Under his nurturing hand it has flourished, gaining international acclaim for its seductive range of red wines. The estate primarily focuses on growing Tinta del País grapes; a thicker-skinned variety of the Tempranillo grape, renowned for producing full-bodied, robust wines.

Condado de Haza’s wines are deeply-rooted in traditional winemaking techniques, utilising a two centuries old wine press that stands as a testament to the heritage of the Indiano buildings. The cellars, hewn into the rocky hillside beneath the vineyards, provide ideal natural temperature control for the ageing process. These authentic methodology combined with modern infrastructure ensures the creation of ethereal wines brimming with personality and complexity.

Not only does Condado de Haze produce exceptional quality wine but the estate's architecture itself is a sight to behold. The winery quarters designed with an Andalusian charm, the courtyard flanked by imposing colonial arches and the terracotta roofs invoke a sense of romance, transporting visitors back in time.

At the heart of Condado de Haza is a rich story of family, passion and nature working in harmony. Each bottle not a mere wine, but a palatable story of the estate's journey from dew-kissed vineyard to your glass. Spending an afternoon at Condado de Haza is not just a tasting experience; instead it's a lesson in Spanish history and a celebration of viticulture at its finest.
