Product Notes

Ernie Els Big Easy Chenin Blanc wine is a libation that hails from South Africa. This wine boasts a vibrant and youthful character with a subtle oak influence. Bursting with flavors of white peaches, guava and ripe pineapple, it excites the palate with its refreshing acidity and signature mineral finish. It's an elegantly balanced tipple, ideal for sipping on a warm summer afternoon or paired with zesty salads or shellfish dishes. This Chenin Blanc truly embodies its moniker 'Big Easy' – an enticing, easy-going wine with a depth that's best savoured, not rushed.

Tasting Notes

Hints of citrus peel and notes of preserved lemon and lime are rounded out with riper guava, quince and white florals. While super fresh, there is a hint of crushed almond to add weight with gentle acidity that follows to a medium-long finish.

About the Winery

Ernie Els

Ernie Els Wines is a beautiful wine farm situated in the heart of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The winery is the brainchild of golfing legend Ernie Els, a man who loves golf as much as he loves wine. His dream of having a wine farm took flight in 1999 and today it’s a testament to his hard work.

The winery is proud of its range of wines, each one unique but all with an orchestra of flavours. The farm’s terroir is perfect for growing a variety of grapes and that in turn allows for the production of wines that are as different as they are delicious. The wines are the result of a dedicated and meticulous team.

As you enter the beautiful terra-cotta building that houses the winery, you’re immediately hit with the aroma of ripe fruit and you know you’re in for a treat. The building is elegant and charming, just like the man himself.

Visitors get more than just a wine tasting at Ernie Els Wines. The modern yet cosy tasting room has stunning views of the vineyards and mountains. A fine dining restaurant serving gourmet food paired with the estate’s award winning wines, courtesy of the chef’s culinary skills.

But what really sets Ernie Els Wines apart is the personal touch that Ernie has put into it. Every bottle of wine is part of Ernie’s journey from being a world renowned sportsman to a wine maker, so wine lovers get not just a drink but a piece of Ernie and his passion.
