Product Notes

Leeu Passant Old Vines `Basson` Wellington Cinsault is an exquisite South African vintage, originating from the globally recognised region of Wellington. This rich, full-bodied wine is made entirely with Cinsault grapes, harvested from old vines that imbue a depth of character and complex flavour profile. Expect intriguing notes of plump berries, wild herbs and warm spices, embraced by finely grained tannins. With great balance and a long finish, this robust wine accompanies meat dishes superbly, enhancing the flavours of both. An excellent choice for those seeking an adventure in wine from South Africa's wine heartland.

Tasting Notes

This aromatic wine has an alluring and complex nose which opens with notes of roses, cranberries, cherries, spice and a hint of thyme. The palate is fresh and silky in texture, with notes of orange peel, rhubarb, maraschino cherries, pink peppercorns and cloves. Fine tannins give great structure and an enticing mouthfeel to the wine.
