Product Notes

Lucien Crochet Sancerre wine hails from the renowned Sancerre region of Loire Valley, France. This sublime white wine, made predominantly from the Sauvignon Blanc grape, boasts outstanding crispness and vivacity. It entices the palate with tantalising notes of citrus, green apples, and flint, coupled with a hint of herbaceousness. Its bouquet is equally intriguing, entwining floral undertones with nuances of citrus and minerals. The wine's delicate balance of fruit and acidity, along with its long, pleasing finish, render it a superb companion to seafood dishes. Lucien Crochet Sancerre is indeed a delightful testament to the region's winemaking prowess.

About the Winery

Lucien Crochet

Lucien Crochet Winery is an exquisite and highly revered wine estate nestled in the heart of the lush Loire Valley in France. Initially established by Andre Crochet and Lucien Picard in the early 1930's, it has been cultivated through generations and currently stands as a testament to legacies beautifully blended with a passion for wine-making.

Helmed by the descendant and namesake, Lucien Crochet, the winery has expanded considerably through the years, boasting about 38 hectares of vineyards today. The secret to the winery's incredible success and the divine taste of its produce perhaps lies in the rich and fertile soil lending a unique terroir to each grape.

Furthermore, this family-run estate is renowned for its commitment to both tradition and innovation. Lucien and his son, Gilles, have embrace the labour-intensive practice of organic farming, yielding harvests that are of exceptional quality. With a focus on securing the health of the vineyards for future generations, they've rejected the use of all chemical fertilisers and synthetic pesticides. Instead, they rely on organic compost and traditional ploughing methods to maintain their vineyards.

The portfolio of Lucien Crochet Winery is largely dominated by Sauvignon Blancs, each with their distinct aroma, complexity, and refreshing mineral notes. However, the crowning gems of this winery are its Sancerre wines, particularly the 'Exils' Sancerre and 'Le Chene' Sancerre. A sip of these exquisite bottles promises a transcendental experience to every wine connoisseur.

Despite being entrenched in tradition, the Lucian Crochet Winery is not averse to embracing modern technologies. In fact, the winery's cellar was constructed in 1988 to accommodate vinification tanks, barrel ageing facilities and temperature-controlled environments. These upgrades, along with their skillfully curated organic approach, has positioned Lucien Crochet among the world-class wineries.

The timeless ethos of heritage, combined with innovative practices, and devoted passion continues to echo through each bottle produced at Lucien Crochet Winery. It serves not just as a testament to the Crochet family's legacy but as an ode to wine lovers worldwide, offers uncompromised quality, authenticity and an absolute treat to their palates.
