The name 'Pursued By Bear' was inspired by a stage direction from Shakespeare's iconic play, “The Winter's Tale.” It was conceived by noted actor Kyle MacLachlan, known for his roles in Twin Peaks and Portlandia. It’s a name that intrigues, sparks curiosity and brings a touch of whimsy to what many may perceive as an oh-so-serious industry.

Fascinated by the rich diversity of terroir across Columbia Valley, MacLachlan set out to create wines that not only reflect but also honour the distinctive character of the region. His passion for wine, nurtured through visits to Napa and Europe, led him on a journey to create Pursued By Bear which started in 2005.
