Product Notes

Tablas Creek Vineyard's Patelin de Tablas Blanc stands tall amidst premier American wines and lives up to its French-inspired winemaking roots. Hailing from California's sunny Paso Robles region, this wine is a delightful blend of four distinct white Rhône varietals. Comprising mainly Grenache Blanc, with hints of Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne, it promises refined, flavourful sipping. This wine graces the palate with succulent peach and honeycomb undertones, laced with crisp, citrus zestiness. Combined with a floral fragrant nose and a tasty mineral finish, it makes an irresistible accompaniment to seafood dishes and delightful on its own, a testament to Tablas Creek's commitment to excellence.

Tasting Notes

The 2018 Patelin de Tablas Blanc is intensely Rhone-like on the nose, with notes of honeysuckle, orange zest, anise, and crushed rock. In the mouth, it's lush but vibrant with mandarin orange, nectarine, white flowers, and a saline mid-palate. The long, zesty finish shows citrus pith and sea spray minerality, with a lingering orange blossom note. Drink now and for the next 2-3 years.

About the Winery

Tablas Creek Vineyard

Located in the heart of Paso Robles, a region in the Central Coast of California, stands the remarkable Tablas Creek Vineyard winery. This historic winery is situated amid the rolling hills and verdant valleys of the state, offering an idyllic backdrop for the cultivation of its treasured grapevines.

Tablas Creek Vineyard is renowned for its dedication to quality and sustainability. As a certified organic and biodynamic vineyard, it has championed green and responsible practices in winemaking from the onset. The winery's adherence to traditional European vine cultivating techniques is a testament to its commitment to producing wines that express the authenticity and character of their terroir.

At the heart of the vineyard is the wizardry of winemaking. The winery’s process is impeccable, marrying traditional and innovative wine production methods to ensure the preservation of the multi-dimensional aromas and flavours of the grapes. The winery is famed for its Rhône-style blends both red and white, made from grape varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Roussanne.

Moreover, the vineyard itself is a sight to behold. Sprawling vines stretch out over 120 acres, kissed by the generous Californian sun and cooled by the maritime breezes. This intrinsic balance of climate and geography played a crucial role in influencing winery founders Robert Haas, and Jean-Pierre and François Perrin to select this land in the 1980s.

Distinctly committed to preserving the land's biodiversity, Tablas Creek Vineyard maintains a thriving grazing programme, using sheep and alpaca to naturally fertilise its vineyards. Goats and donkeys, meanwhile, help control the overgrowth of weeds in the vineyard.

Whilst visiting Tablas Creek Vineyard. Visitors have the opportunity to sample their exquisite wines, meander through the aromatic cellars and partake in vineyard tours to witness firsthand the meticulous care invested into the cultivation of each grape cluster. Combining the allure of its scenic beauty with a glass of superbly crafted wine, a trip to Tablas Creek Vineyard promises an experience that's both sensory and unforgettable.
