Product Notes

The Tenuta Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino is an exquisite Italian wine, renowned for its compelling depth and complexity. Boasting a splendid ruby red hue, it offers an elegant nose full of dark fruit, forest floor, and subtle hint of spices. The palate is met with velvety tannins and a balanced, full-bodied structure, featuring a sophisticated blend of black cherry, tobacco and earthy tones. This gem from Tuscany ends with a persistently long finish. Matured rigorously in oak barrels, it’s a genuine expression of its terroir and a hallmark of Italian winemaking finesse.

Tasting Notes

Red with warm garnet notes. Fruity weaves and light floral embroidery are immediately noticeable. Red berry fruit and hints of undergrowth. Spicy but also mineral finish. Taste is dry, warm, well balanced, ample and persistent.

About the Winery

Tenuta Le Potazzine

Located in the heart of Tuscany, nestled amidst the breath-taking Italian countryside, Tenuta Le Potazzine is a quintessentially rustic winery. It stands as a fine representation of the rich heritage of Italian viticulture, treating every visitor to an unrivalled wine-tasting experience.

Established in 1993 by Gigliola and Vittorio Biliorsi, Tenuta Le Potazzine represents not just a winery, but the life's work of a passionate couple, their love of the land is clear in every bottle they produce. Gigliola and Vittorio named the winery after the local nickname for the wren, a charming bird known for its song, just as Tenuta Le Potazzine is known for harmonious wines.

The winery spans over five hectares of vineyards, producing approximately 20,000 bottles of wine every year. The emphasis at Tenuta Le Potazzine is always on quality, rather than quantity, resulting in wines crafted with meticulous care and attention. Wines are aged in Slavonian oak for an extended period and left to mature in bottles before they are finally ready to be uncorked, savoured and enjoyed.

The vineyard is divided into four main plots, each harvesting their unique variety of Sangiovese grapes used to produce the signature Brunello and Rosso wines. The terroir of each plot offers a distinctive flavour profile, allowing for the creation of wines with depth, complexity and a sweet note of tradition.

Among the most popular of their creations including the Tenuta Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino and Tenuta Le Potazzine Rosso di Montalcino, The Brunello, in particular, is widely acknowledged for its intensity, longevity and pure expression of the Sangiovese grape,

Winemaking at Tenuta Le Potazzine is not merely a process, it’s a tradition. A spiritual journey rooted in the fertile soils of Tuscany, a romance, an art, a song sung by a little Italian wren.
