Tasting Notes

The 2020 Guidalberto is taut and tight with plenty of tart cherry and wild berry. The wine offers great freshness and tension with bay leaf, spice, wild cherry and pressed lavender buds. There is a hint of black olive too. The blend is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

This winery remains the only Italian wine to have its own dedicated category - the "Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC".

The vineyard spreads across 75 hectares of solar-drenched Tuscan land. It is nestled in the Bolgheri DOC, famous for its unique terroir and favourable climate, that provide perfect conditions for growing high-quality grapes. The estates surprisingly stony soil, brimming with limestone and clay, add distinctive mineral nuances to their wines that have become indicative of Tenuta San Guido’s offerings.

The winery practices a harmonious blend of traditional and modern methods in wine production. Grapes are meticulously selected and handpicked to ensure only the most exceptional make it to the fermentation process.
