About the Winery

Tenuta San Guido

Located along the idyllic Tuscan coast, the Tenuta San Guido estate epitomises wine-making luxury. Nestled between the hills and the sea, the breathtaking scenery provides the perfect backdrop for the story of one of Italy's most prestigious vineyards. Recognised for its contribution to the world of fine wine, its wines seduce with style, elegance and exquisite quality.

Tenuta San Guido was founded by Mario Incisa della Rocchetta who was inspired by the French vineyards of Bordeaux. His innovative approach and passion for winemaking pioneered the production of the now globally lauded Sassicaia. This winery remains the only Italian wine to have its own dedicated category - the "Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC".

The vineyard spreads across 75 hectares of solar-drenched Tuscan land. It is nestled in the Bolgheri DOC, famous for its unique terroir and favourable climate, that provide perfect conditions for growing high-quality grapes. The estates surprisingly stony soil, brimming with limestone and clay, add distinctive mineral nuances to their wines that have become indicative of Tenuta San Guido’s offerings.

The winery practices a harmonious blend of traditional and modern methods in wine production. Grapes are meticulously selected and handpicked to ensure only the most exceptional make it to the fermentation process. Once harvested, the wine matures in French oak barrels bestowing an edge of authenticity and a hint of leathery luxury.

Each wine from Tenuta San Guido captures the heart and soul of the stunning Italian landscape, offering a distinctive blend of earthy flavours coupled with the characteristic layer of fruit. The estate’s output, although not prolific is always sterling quality. Without a doubt, their wines carry a rich history and that distinct touch of Italian elegance, that wine connoisseurs the world over have come to admire. Taste Tenuta San Guido’s wines, and you'll be tasting Italy at it's finest,
