Product Notes

Alpha Estate's Xinomavro Single Vineyard Hedgehog is a fine Greek wine that truly embodies its origin from Amyndeon plateau. Bottled elegant crimson beauty, it's brimming with layers of complex flavours, intertwining raspberry, plum and cherry. Faint smoky undertone willfully complements these fruitiness, adding depth. Tannin structure is firm yet pliant, ensuring an alluring balance. On the nose, scents of dried herbs, olives, and tomatoes dance enticingly. It is aged in French oak barrels and bottled unfiltered, enhancing its earthy qualities. Notoriously food-friendly, it pairs exquisitely with robust lamb or beef dishes to cheese and pasta. Overall, it's an indulgent testament to Greece's viniculture.

Tasting Notes

A wonderful example of Xinomavro, with its complex, but typical bouquet of small berried red fruits, leather and pepper, clove and vanilla spice. Structured, with rounded tannins and a balancing acidity, this wine has well-integrated oak and quince on the finish.
