Product Notes

Boekenhoutskloof Cap Maritime Chardonnay is a South African gem, boasting a distinct and evocative blend that captivates the senses. With an expressive bouquet of sun-ripened pear, zesty citrus and subtle toasted oak, it reveals a crisp, complex palate and a creamy mouthfeel that's wonderfully rounded off with a lengthy, mineral finish. Its broad flavour spectrum, balance and finesse reflect the cool maritime influences of the Cape region, lending this Chardonnay a delightful elegance and vibrancy. Ideal for fine dining, it’s a sophisticated white wine that pairs exceptionally well with seafood. A truly exceptional Chardonnay experience.

Tasting Notes

The nose is delicate and refined with its complex aromas of lemon, yellow apple, pear and starfruit. Rich flavours of quince, lime, honeydew melon and creme fraiche dominate an opulent, full, yet vibrant palate. The wine is supple and precise with poised acidity and freshness. The mid-palate shows incredible balance with subtle nuances of pie crust and blanched almonds from exceptional oak handling, creating intensity with the rich texture and pure fruit. Hints of fresh pineapple, poached pear and lemongrass linger on a clean, focused finish.
