Product Notes

Casa Ferreirinha's Barca Velha Douro Tinto is the pinnacle of Portuguese fine wines. Matured for many years in cellars, it presents a vivid ruby colour and an intense aroma of ripe fruits, combined with balsamic notes and spice touches. The mouthfeel is robust, yet lush, revealing fine tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long-lasting and elegant. Highly regarded as a collectible, it shows the full potential of the Douro region with its complexity and harmonious features. Pairs beautifully with refined red meat dishes and matured cheeses. A remarkable wine, worth savouring at leisure.

Tasting Notes

Its color is deep ruby. Very complex aroma, with a salience for spices, such as pepper, balsamic notes, cedar and tobacco box, red fruits, such as ripe plum, slate and a high quality, well integrated wood. In the mouth it has a vibrant acidity, very lively, very firm tannins, notes of spices, black fruits and balsamic flavors. The finish is extremely long, of great elegance and complexity.
