About the Winery

Domaine Breton

Situated in the heart of Loire Valley, Domaine Breton winery is a delightful visit for all wine enthusiasts. The picturesque vineyard spreads over 40 hectares, adorned with sprawling rows of Cabernet Franc, Chenin Blanc, and Pinot Noir vines, dancing under the clear French skies.

Domaine Breton winery has been under the meticulous care of Catherine and Pierre Breton since 1982. The couple are staunch advocates of biodynamic practices, following the rudiments prescribed by Rudolf Steiner. The results of their dedication to bio-dynamic viticulture is evident in the exquisite taste and complex flavours of their wines.

The winery boasts a range distinctive wines that spans both red and white varietals. Their Bourgueil "Clos Senechal", Bourgueil "Perrieres", and Chinon "Beaumont", are favourites amongst connoisseurs and critics alike. Each bottle telling a unique story of the terroir, whilst capturing the passion and dedication of the Bretons.

The Bretons firmly believe in letting nature take its course, and refrain from using any artificial chemicals in their vineyards. This ethic extends to the cellar as well where the wines are aged in old oak barrels to maintain their natural purity and character. Intriguingly, each bottle of Domaine Breton wine is corked by hand, adding a personal touch to the entire process.

Visitors to the winery are welcomed with open arms by the affable Bretons. A tour of the winery is a true sensory delight – from the sight of lush vineyards to the aroma of the wine-filled cellars.

Domaine Breton winery is truly a testament to the delicate balance of nature, highlighting the manifold wonders of bio-dynamically produced wine; a must-visit, if travelling through the picturesque Loire Valley, in France!
