Product Notes

Graci Etna Rosato DOC is an exquisite rosé wine produced on the eastern slopes of Sicily's Mount Etna. An aromatic delight, it presents a bouquet of wild strawberries, pomegranate, and thyme elegantly merging with minerality inherited from volcanic soils. Its palate provides a beautiful harmony of freshness and structure, carrying energetic acidity and pleasing persistent aftertaste. Graci Etna Rosato DOC peculiarly incarnates the unique terroir of Etna region, blending autochthonous Nerello Mascalese grapes into a naturally expressive and sophisticated wine. This elegant rosé embodies Mediterranean sun, evoking delightful summer sensations in every sip.

Tasting Notes

The Etna Rosato is 100% Nerello Mascalese and is pale salmon colour, obtained from direct pressing and without any skin maceration. Lovely nose, very elegant and marine and savoury, with just a slight hint of wild strawberry and pink grapefruit. On the palate, the wine is saline and expressive, showing nectarine, hints of rhubarb and red apple skin

About the Winery

Graci

Graci winery, nestled on the northern slopes of Sicily’s active volcano Mount Etna, effortlessly blends tradition with modernity. The vineyard, which was established in 2004 by Alberto Aiello Graci, is not just a place to produce wine, but rather a symbol of the region’s heritage. Sweeping over 24 hectares, Graci’s vineyards are host to a multitude of grapes, including the indigenous Nerello Mascalese and Carricante.

Graci's profound passion for his ancestral land resonates deeply in the winery’s philosophy. A strong advocate for biodynamic and organic farming methods, he believes in minimal intervention to preserve the unique identity of each vineyard. Graci carefully nurtures the delicate eco-system of the volcanic terrain, rejecting the use of herbicides and pesticides to ensure the health and quality of his yield.

The wines produced at the Graci winery, matured in the site's ancient lava caves, are a testament to Graci’s dedication. From reds to whites, each wine is reflective of the rich volcanic soils, regional climate, and the winemaker's skilled attention to detail. The Etna Rosso, particularly, stands out with its savoury, nuanced character; and the Etna Bianco, with it's vibrant, citrusy touch, is equally captivating.

Every bottle from Graci winery is a celebration of Sicily’s rich wine tradition, woven with a forward-thinking approach to sustainability. However, this isn't just a winery; it's a potent symbol of one man's passion made palatable, an emblem of respect for the land, and a nod to the world’s ever-growing appreciation for authentic, terroir-driven wines.

Though the winery’s promises of exceptional wines are undeniably tempting, the allure of the Graci winery stretches beyond the vine. Visitors are captivated by the winery’s simplistic yet elegant design, bordering on austere, which allows the sun kissed landscapes and the vine-draped trellises to truly shine. In the end, a trip to Graci is, indeed an experience of a lifetime; it's not only about savouring great wines, it's about immersing oneself in a sense of place and a rich heritage.
