About the Winery

Il Marroneto

Il Marroneto is an iconic winery located in the heart of Tuscany’s Montalcino region, internationally revered for its distinguished range of Brunello wines. This vineyard's story commenced in 1974 when Giuseppe Mori, captivated by the beauty of Tuscany, purchased a sweeping estate replete with thick groves of chestnut trees. The winery was hence named Il Marroneto, a tribute to the emblematic chestnut or 'marroneto' trees that dot the landscape.

Il Marroneto's enchanting narrative extends far beyond its name, delicately threading through each meticulously crafted bottle of wine. The vineyard boasts 40-year-old vines spreading across six hectares of land. Each vine is treated protractedly and caringly by delicate human hands precluding the use of machinery completely from their routine. This authentic approach allows for the production of rich and corpulent wines, abundant in Old-World charm that is synchronised perfectly with New-World sophistication.

At the helm of the wine operations is Alessandro Mori, Giuseppe's son, who diligently curates a selection of wines that are a perfect embodiment of the Montalcino terroir. The winery's pièce de résistance is undoubtedly their Brunello di Montalcino 'Madonna delle Grazie', a compellingly intricate wine, showcasing depth, precision and an excellent ageing potential, Capture by its unique character and sheer elegance, this wine has garnered unyielding admiration from wine connoisseurs worldwide.

Another stellar attraction at Il Marroneto is its wine tours. These tours provide an immersive journey throughout the lush vineyards, the state-of-the-art wine cellars, concluding in a refined tasting session of their stunning wines.

In sum, Il Marroneto is not just a winery; it is a testament to a love affair between a man and his land, a tribute to Tuscany’s ageless grandeur, that encapsulates the region’s charming allure and abiding viticultural traditions. It ventures further than just producing exquisite wines but endeavours to provide an unforgettable experience that lingers long after the final sip, an experience that makes its presence cherished by wine enthusiasts throughout the world.
