Product Notes

The Ovum Wines Off the Grid Riesling is a captivating ensemble of dramatically contrasting characteristics. Its dazzling golden hue complements the intricate aroma of citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate, lashes of tangy grapefruit and lemon dance with softer tones of honeydew and spicy ginger. The wine maintains an impressively balanced minerality, originating from the Oregonian soils it hails from. Lusciously rich yet gracefully bright, this Riesling is aged in neutral oak barrels, adding a whisper of complexity to your sips. It's a splendid choice for those seeking a superbly refreshing and stimulating organic viticultural experience.

Tasting Notes

2021 Off the Grid Riesling is a quintessential Ovum wine. Intensley aromatic with luscious texture one might expect from a red wine. The first thing you'll notice is the deep yellow color in the glass, this comes from aging whtie wine in Acacia wood barrels (we commission the barrels for our production). Aromatics - ripe apricot, Eureka lemon, thyme. This wine has an unusual aroma that we can only compare to what it smells like when you walk into charcuterie shop...in a good way! Richly textured, 2021 Off the Grid is a mouthful of wine. High aciding provides scaffolding and structure, and the 9gL of residual sugar is barely noticable but lays the foundation for long aging. 350 cases produced. Aging potential: 10-20 years.
