Product Notes

Ruffino Serelle Vin Santo del Chianti is an iconic, indulgent Italian wine from Tuscany. Its delightful amber hue reflects a luscious array of flavours, boasting a ripe melange of apricots, sweet almonds, honey, and vanilla notes. This dessert wine is made from Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes and nurtured with a reverence for tradition, including gentle drying and a painstaking ageing process; embodying a truly classic Vin Santo. It is intensely aromatic, quite complex with a delightful, lingering finish. This luxurious wine pairs splendidly with stilton, gorgonzola or traditional Italian cantucci biscuits, making it simply unforgettable.

Tasting Notes

COLOUR - Amber with glistening golden highlights. AROMA - An enticing bouquet of complexity and elegance layered with nuts and dried fruit (dates, hazelnuts and exotic fruits), culminating in acacia honey and candied fruit. TASTING PROFILE - The thick and beguiling bouquet extends to the taste buds, repeating the aromas sincerely with custard cream, citrus zest and dried figs on the finish. FULL TASTING NOTES - A beguiling sweetness capable of long possessing the palate and only releasing it again after a long but lovely siege.

About the Winery

Emerging from the heart of the Tuscan countryside is the internationally renowned Ruffino Winery. First established in 1877 by two dedicated cousins, Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, the winery has, over the years, etched its name deeply into the lineage of Italy's premier wine producers.

Ruffino's creation story is one steeped in passion and unabated ambition. The cousins were driven by a shared love of their local grape varieties, which they believed could produce exquisite wines capable of elevating Italy's winemaking reputation worldwide. Since its establishment, the winery has consistently been dedicated to finessing the art of creating world-class wines.

Their journey as vintners started with a modest 40-hectare vineyard in the Chianti region. Their commitment to enhancing the qualities of the Sangiovese grape varietal played a pivotal role in elevating both the stature of Chianti wines and the reputation of Italian wines in general. Today, with over 1400 hectares of vineyards, Ruffino stands as a luminary within the Italian wine scene.

Ruffino prides itself on maintaining the virtues of Italian tradition whilst embracing modern technological advances. Through a combination of time-honoured winemaking techniques and cutting-edge technology, Ruffino carefully curates a range of iconic wines that hold true to their established legacy.

Moreover, it's worth noting the winery's exceptional dedication to sustainability and reverence to its land. Ruffino actively preserves the biodiversity of its vineyards, contributing significantly to its authentic terroir expression.

Indeed, if you are passionate about wines which tells a story, offers a sense of place and cherishes the land from which it sprouts; Ruffino Winery provides an unmatched vinous experience. The ethos that integrity, respect for the land and dedication to quality imbues every drop of their outstanding wines is a testament to Ruffino's enduring legacy and the passion that continues forgoing its impressive future.

Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or a casual wine lover, indulging in a bottle from Ruffino Winery promises a taste of the Italian landscape, captured in the essence of their vibrant and elegant wines. And as the Italians say, "Saluti!"
