Product Notes
Blank Canvas Element Vineyard Gimblett Gravels Syrah is a stunning example of New Zealand's viticulture. Harvested from a tiny but prolific vineyard, this wine offers a bold, complex flavour profile. It delights the palate with a medley of rich, dark fruit, balanced by a peppery spice with an undertone of liquorice. Supple tannins and good acidity give it excellent structure. Its dark ruby hue and beautiful, perfume-like aroma add to the overall charm. Aged in French oak with careful handling, this wine is a testament to the full potential of Syrah in the Gimblett Gravels wine-growing facility. It is truly an oenophile's delight.
Tasting Notes
In the true expression of cool-climate Syrah, this wine exudes freshly cracked black pepper, crushed violets, red and black forest fruits and savoury smoky nuances. It has crunchy acidity which carries the fine-grained tannins and background of spicy, savoury oak. This wine is about fragrance and texture, assisted by the co-fermentation with the Grüner Veltliner skins as well as whole-cluster fermentation. It boasts layers of complexity in flavour and tannins which allows an intriguing long-term ageing potential.
