Product Notes

Spice Route Swartland Mourvèdre is an exceptional South African wine, originating from an ancient winemaking region. Demonstrating a dark ruby hue, it unfurls an impressive bouquet of ripe plums, black cherries and subtle spice notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and robust, with a compelling blend of dark fruit, hints of earthy richness, and delicate spice undertones, imperceptibly framed by aged oak. This Mourvèdre offers soft, silky tannins that lead to a long finish, highlighting the gentle warmth of its origin. A captivating red to pair with smoked meats, mature cheese or hearty roasts.

Tasting Notes

Dense and intense, with opulent aromas of black cherry, raspberry, cardamom and wild herbs. The palate is brimming with juicy black and red fruit flavours, tempered by a subtle savoury edge. It is medium bodied, with ripe tannins and well-integrated oak.
